A little more about me
I have been in practice since 2005 as a specialist family lawyer, after achieving degrees in law and arts (psychology) from Otago University. I set up my own practice as a barrister sole in 2015 and established Kumutoto Chambers with Shelley and Frances in 2020.
I am the Hutt Valley regional representative of the Family Law Section of the New Zealand Law Society, and I have previously been a member of the Executive Committee of that Section.
I am on the list of senior lawyers appointed by the Family Court to act as lawyer for the child in court cases about children. I particularly enjoy the privilege of advocating for tamariki Māori. Kei te kimihia tonu ahau ki tōku whakapapa ngaro, engari he kakano ahau i ruia mai i Rangiatea.
